Welcome to the Roads to Reading Initiative

Welcome to the Roads to Reading’s web site. The mission of the Roads to Reading is to provide quality reading materials to children in undeserved communities in the United States.

The Roads to Reading web site has been designed to provide information about our organization and our programming. The primary focus of the organization is to provide new books for remedial literacy programming to schools, community centers, and licensed child care providers and to other non-profit organization that provided services to children in the United States.

Some of the information you will find on our web site are: Programming information along with the program guidelines and applications for the following programs: Annual Book Donation Program, Books for All Kids and All Children Need Books. We also provide other opportunities for non-profits to receive small book donations outside of the above mentioned programs. As we continue to advance in our growth as an organization, we will be adding more information to the site to assist literacy organizations in helping children to compete in the ever fast changing global environment in which we live today.

How to Volunteer

The Roads to Reading has no paid full-time employees and therefore relies on the assistance of volunteers. There are numerous ways to give your support to the Roads to Reading: lend your planning skills, marketing or artistic ability or any available free time to help.
Donate new children’s books, make monetary donations, or support Children's Books for Schools and Libraries, our on-line children’s book store.

Learn more about volunteering at our Support Roads to Reading web site.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the following companies and individuals for the assistance they have given us to make the Roads to Reading what it is today. Our success has happen in part because of very dedicated staff and volunteers, but without the generosity of time and donation of resources, whether it’s been in the form of financial support or the in-kind donation of books we would not be where we are today.
